How to keep trick or treaters away from my home this Halloween?

I hate to do this, but I'm busy as hell this month. I'm a college freshman with midterms, and I can't have ppl ringing my doorbell every second, distracting me from my studying (I don't mean to sound nerdy at all LOL). But I need a good way to hint to ppl, that I won't be giving out candy this year. I live in an apartment on the second floor by the way. I thought about turning off all the lights, but then, how am I going to do my work? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Hint: What would discourage YOU from going to a house to get candy? LMAO xD
