Is Saddam Hussein a hero?

The man died in a flawed and a mockery of a trial. If anyone ever bothers to read the history of the charges and the Dujail macre you will see that it isn't any different than the way the United States has behaved in the past. So on the basis that he took on the United States and did not back down (twice) which requires a lot of courage, is Saddam Hussein a hero?
