Bond of Carbon and Nitrogen; covalent or ionic, why?

This is a covalent bond. Neither the carbon nor nitrogen atom will lose electrons and form a positive ion. An ionic bond contains a positive and a negative ion. Since neither of these atoms forms a positive ion, there can not be an ionic bond. These two atoms can only share electrons in a covalent bond.
